[Dancing On Skylights (Inst.)]

REAL trance :)

A little 8 years ago Trance was the major leading scene in Holland. One of the parties was Innercity and believe me, this would have fitted on the floor for a 100%.
Some more reverb in the tones would have given it a bit more *dreamy* atmosphere. Good layering, sounds are fitted nicly. Overall, nothing to complain ;).

This got my attension

Okay you got my attension from the very first second. There is a *vibe and emotion* in the piano line which gives the proper tone for a sad note. I really feel a sad atmosphere which you probably tried to bring over to the listener. I am not a big fan of hiphop but as there is emotion in a track, I am more then willing to listen. The vocal recording was clear, fitted tightly on the beat so there is nothing I can say about that ;)

Flows well, catchy vocals (instead of annoying, if people gonna bomb you for that they got no knowhow of creativity ;p). Cool subbazz (adicted to basses).
Would perfectly fit on a D&B party dancefloor.
Hopefully it will be picked up for a cool movie.

hehe thanks for the great review! i had a ton of fun cutting the vocals (it's from gundam wing btw) and throughout the whole song i was just bouncing in my chair to the bass lol, it's an awesome bass with awesome wobble to it and im glad you liked it as much as I did.

Good to see you got a new upload on NG ;).
Lovely how you just take a little trip in your own mind
trying something else then you normally do, still (and I am glad)
its overall clear that its a 100% Nemesis styled track.
Love the beginning and especially the little twist on the lead tones.
Very good and well balanced bass ( for sure in my new studiocorner ;p).

You asked for a devined review, o sorry, you asked for a nice one. Now I gt choose between staying polite or give you some REAL advice from my point of view. And I think I have got the right to speak after making digital music for over 12 years (Part time!)

Sorry I am not a *ooow heej what a cool track* reviewer, I rather give you something extra like a piece of advice.
Intro:
The sounds of the piano, the pling pling just kills the whole trance idea. It sounds more like an old rave track then trance to me, but heej that is my opinion.
Build up:
The lead synth and melody are a bit to much been here done that, altrough the way the piano comes back and takes over the lead is done really well, especially the fade in of the beat. Still for my feeling its missing background to get a real spine. You know how to handle software that is for sure, but its not a masterpiece which I would like to hear back on a party.
Ending:
It is to short with a 2:49 to call a complete track... just a simple fade-out is NOT an ending. Maybe you should add some vocals to play with from the beginning, middle and to end with.

Mastering is nothing more then give every sound its own level of avaidability, what you should do is bring the track MORE to life.
I also would advice a DEEPER bassdrum, it will give your track a lot more potential.

Good luck with making music, you KNOW what you are doing, my advice is try to put *just a bit more* effort in your final product.
Please take my words in concideration before flaming and blaming, I ment it positive, otherwise i would not take the time to write this all down for ya.

well the thing is... lol... this is all i can really do.
i totally get what u mean and i take all ur stuff as good stuff, but you have to remember that im 16 years old, i do this in my spare time, and im no 12 year music maker like u. ive only made music for not even a year.
ill take ur advice, but i know i wont use it cuz idk what else to do to this track.

btw, i just put it in trance cuz thats what it mostly sounds like. the piano, yes, i know is not really trancy. its more of a what u said older rave, techno.

overall, ill try and try to get much better for u and people like u that have made music for long

i know 2:44 is a track. YES, a track. a song is a song no matter how long it is. but i see what u mean.

oh and that DEEPER bassdrum, ILL FREAKING DO THAT!!!!! :D

its like you have let EVERY sound a release time thats way to overated... its becomes one big mess with tones who goes over another one... maybe you have played a bit to much with reverbs?not sure... Its not that I dont like it but a cover/remix should have a little ADD ON, for me this doesnt add something on to the original... still keep up the good work. Its not negative, I mean, you prove that you are able to handle music software, now GO and make an original version ;)

nice ambient

very proffie way of telling your story, it kept me intrest fot the whole track. Nice use of panning, it gives a very cool atmosphere on top of the flow itself. nice beat with a view cool gimicks to, once again, keep the variation and the intrest. keep u pthe good work.

Just a little *check this for inspiration* search on Youtube for Border Community, its typical english Minimal and I am sure you can appriciate their style aswell.

hmmmz hard to say what I think about it... I dont know anything about your background so if I say it sounds like *my first trance song* I do not want to offend you, you are on a good way but the track overall is just nothing special. Its not good but its not bad either, like they say in animal crossing, its not milk but it aint a milkshake either...

keep up the good work I am sure one day you will blow me away ;)
